Funds for Winter: Residents of Lebyazhe Village Receive Financial Assistance to Cover Basic Needs

The team of the CF "Peaceful heaven of Kharkiv" is registering residents of Lebyazhe village in the Chkalovska community to receive cash assistance. Thanks to our partners at Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, recipients will receive €525 to prepare for the winter. A total of 446 residents of Lebyazhe have been registered.

The Chkalovska community is one of the most heavily mined areas in Kharkiv Oblast. Most of its settlements were occupied since March 2022. The front line ran through Lebyazhe, and the community continues to face constant shelling. This makes not only the delivery of humanitarian aid difficult but also meeting basic needs, such as winter heating and access to clean drinking water.

“The money is very much needed. My pension is too small, and it’s not enough. There’s hardly any work in the village,” shares Valentyna Mykolaivna, a resident of Lebyazhe.

Together with Diakonie, we prioritize supporting the most vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, the elderly, single parents, pregnant women, and those with chronic illnesses.

Before the full-scale invasion, over 12,000 people lived in the Chkalovska community. Today, that number has halved. We are working to ensure that residents of frontline communities have what they need!
