The heating season in Kharkiv and Kharkiv region lasts an average of 190-200 days, of which 81-100 days the temperature during the day is below 0°C. According to information from the local authorities, the heating season will be extremely difficult this year. It will be possible to maintain the heat level in residential premises up to 16°C only. The residential buildings were damaged due to hostilities and are not able to keep heat. 72% of Kharkiv region is connected to the central heating system, which was badly damaged in the first months of the war and yet to be restored.

CO «CF «Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv» and its partners plan to implement a program of winterization, which consists of the following projects:

- SHELTERS INSULATION
- WARMTH TO COMMUNITIES
This program focuses on critical purchases and repairs that are already underway well in advance of winter to protect vulnerable communities from the cold.
