At an international conference, we presented the work of our Veterans Support Center
Psychological and legal assistance, informational and consultative support, professional adaptation, and leisure activities are the key areas of focus at the Center for Social and Psychological Support for Veterans and Their Families, which has been operating in Chuhuiv for several months. Galyna Holub, project manager of the Peaceful heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation, shared details about the Center's work at the international scientific-practical conference "Modern Approaches to Rehabilitation and Readaptation of Military Personnel, Veterans, and Their Families."*
The event, held at Karazin University, brought together researchers, military personnel, veterans, representatives of government institutions, and public organizations.
“We discussed pressing issues related to the rehabilitation and readaptation of military personnel and veterans, summarized experiences and best practices in working with veterans and demobilized individuals, and explored ways to improve legislation,” said Galyna Holub.
Galyna Holub presented the Center's key focus areas and achievements, including individual and group sessions and social adaptation programs. One of the directions also includes professional orientation, retraining, and educational courses. This is vital support not only for veterans themselves but also for their families. Since the Center began its work, it has received approximately 1,500 visitors.
The conference also addressed various issues and areas of veteran support, including regulatory frameworks, rehabilitation medicine, and mental health, as well as insights into international experiences.
An electronic collection of materials from the conference is planned to be published and made openly accessible.
